Paris is a gorgeous and spirited Paint horse  with significant quarter horse and thoroughbred influences through her impressive bloodlines.

She comes to us from the same loving home as Sacred, Joe, and Shasta, whose owner could no longer care for them.

Paris is an in-your pocket sweetheart with a good mind. She loves people and attention and is eager to please.

Because she spent her first fourteen years on the same property, she still needs exposure to a lot of things in the world and is building confidence in humans to guide her through them.

This leggy, 15-year-old, solid paint mare with an impressive pedigree does run a little hot, however, and can be watchy and anxious in new situations. She is fairly solid in her ground work and moving her four quarters independently but can be distractable and needs reminders to keep focused on work and sometimes on manners. She lunges nicely through all three gaits, stands for the farrier, ties, and loads.

Paris’ first few rides under saddle have been very calm and relaxed. She is still riding in the halter, however, as she is new to handling of her mouth, which we are working on slowly in preparation for bridling.

While sporting a beautiful build with quarter horse and thoroughbred influences, Paris does have some minor unsoundness stemming from scar tissue in her left shoulder muscles which causes minor inhibition in full range of motion. Generally it is unnoticeable at the walk and barely discernable at the trot and does not seem to cause her any pain. For this reason and due to her age, she would do best in a non-performance home where she can continue to learn about the people world and build a true, trusting partnership.

To keep her in peak condition and manage some enzyme levels which can get on the higher side, Paris needs a low starch/sugar and high protein diet, which includes limited pasture time. She gets along fairly well with many other horses, but can be testy with dominant mares.

Paris ISO a dedicated partner she can count on to teach her confidence and how to move comfortably as a team. In return, she will give you her whole heart, unconditionally. Could you be that someone? See How To Adopt for more information.
