Cannary was brought to Mountain Shadows in May of 2020 from a rescue in Oregon. She was originally totally unhandled and extremely afraid of humans.

Our longest resident, Cannary has learned to enjoy human company and, after training, has impeccable ground manners. She has a very sweet disposition, leads well, ties, stands well for the farrier and
for grooming, and has gone through flag training and other desensitization exercises. She can be head shy with haltering and reactive to sudden touch on her hindquarters, but is very manageable with a quiet, calm handler. 

Over the past year, Cannary has experienced increasing bouts of lameness and has recently been diagnosed with ringbone in her left, front pastern. We are currently trying joint injections to provide relief.
