Fennec

Meet Fennec!

Status: Available to adopt!

Age: 12
Gender: Mare
Breed: Grade
Height: 13.3hh
Handler experience needed: Experienced horse owner

Fennec was rescued from the Centennial Livestock Auction in April of 2021. She was an unhandled range brood mare from Wyoming. She had been pregnant prior to arrival at auction, but lost her foal in the trailer on the way there and was suffering from an infected wound on her leg.

Fennec was very timid when she arrived, but slowly warmed up to people and is now very happy to get attention!

Fennec loads easily, stands for the farrier, and is attentive and responsive with groundwork. She has also been ponied on trails and walked in two parades!

Fennec has a sweet-tempered disposition and is very people-oriented. She gets along well with most other horses, but can be pushed around by those which are especially cowy.

While she excels at ground work and has gone through extensive training over the past two years, Fennec has made it clear that she is not comfortable with the idea of a rider on her back, so for her own well-being, she is available for adoption as a companion only.
