Sacred came to MSER with his uncle Joe in May of 2021. He is a striking registered Medicine Hat Paint gelding who was loved his whole life by the same owner. He was born and lived on the same property in central Wyoming until his owner began a battle with a serious illness and asked for assistance with finding him a new home.

Sacred was saddle-trained at the rescue and adopted in the winter of 2022, but was returned to the rescue in the fall due to a change in circumstances for his adoptive family. 

Sacred is now available for adoption as a companion horse. He is saddle-trained with his basics, but because he has minor arthritis and a congenital condition in his hocks, what this sweet old goof needs is a retirement home where he can give his new family many years of oversized snuggles.  

Sacred is a dominant gelding who does best with other horses in the middle or lower in the social order. To help keep his joints moving, he will do best in a larger paddock or pasture where he can move around. Sacred needs sun protection for his fair facial skin. He is currently on senior grain with weight-maintenance supplements and daily Equioxx to manage his arthritis.
