Opal was dumped, emaciated, at a livestock auction in May of 2023,  having recently lost a foal. She came to us with fellow broodmare Sedona. Initially very hesitant to accept human touch, Opal has made great strides in her training. Working with MSER’s vice president and head trainer Aden, Opal readily welcomes humans in her space,  accepts haltering, pets and love from us. Opal has started strong on lunging and groundwork at the walk and trot and is still very curious by nature and eager to learn.

This summer, Opal will spend the summer with Aden on her family’s ranch; continuing her training and working with other horses. Our hope for Opal is that she returns to MSER with more confidence and under saddle!
