Daisy (named for the birth flower for April) was born to Mama Stella on April 25th, 2025, in the wee hours of the morning at Mountain Shadows. Daisy is the second baby to be born here at the rescue. 

Stella came to us in March 2025 with Skye and Bailey, and over those couple of months, we made sure Stella had everything she needed ahead of her foaling time: plentiful hay, supportive grain for nutrition, and a comfortable and safe place to foal. 

Though Stella did everything perfectly immediately following the birth, she ultimately decided motherhood was not for her, and we have been diligently bottle-feeding dear Daisy since. 

In the short time we have known Daisy, it has become clear she is a spunky and energetic sweetheart.

And though she is being bottle-fed, we are very fortunate that while she is being housed by one of our fabulous board members, Daisy also has Sister and Fennec to be her “aunties” 

We are eager to see how Daisy grows!
